Project was elaborated and realized in limits of initiatives of Civil Partnership Moldova-Romania-Ukraine with financial support of the East-East Program “Partnership beyond borders”.

Goals and objects of the project ”Strengthening the cross-border cooperation in the Euroregion “Lower Danube”.

General goals of this project is improving cross-border cooperation, which means activization of commission activity of the Euroregion “Lower Danube’’, creating new projects of cross-border cooperation, making conditions for cooperation.

General goals of the project was achieved by the way of attracting representatives of local and original state power of Moldova, Ukraine and Romania in trilateral cross-border cooperation which will permit the use of results of project in future programmes and strategies of regional development and develop relationships between non-governmental and governmental sectors for socio-economic development of the Euroregion “Lower Danube.”

According to realizing the plan of the project a working group of consultants were realized following actions:

1. Visit on exchange experience on territory of Ukraine and leading practical Conference in Izmail (28 November-1 December 2006).

2. Visit on exchange experience in Romania and participating in the work Euroregion Soviet “Lower Danube” (7-9 December 2006).

3. Visit on exchange experience and finishing the project on the territory of Republic of Moldova and leading practical Conference in Kahul (14-17 December 2006).

4. Publishing and spreading the materials on the project results.

Project results:

· Organization and leading of three visits on exchange experience on the territory of Republic of Moldova , Romania and Ukraine for successful activity in the sphere of local management, public organizations, partnerships between private and public sector.

· Realizing of two practical conferences on exchange experience in the sphere of cross-border cooperation in Izmail and Kahul .On the conference strong and week aspects of the Euroregion were exposed. The positive models of cooperation in various directions such as tourism, local economic development, limpidity of making decision on local level, local self-government, scientific and cultural exchanges were observed in limits of practical Conferences.

· Participating of project representatives in the work of the Euroregion Soviet “Lower Danube” and representing the project.

· Attracting more than 30 representatives of local and regional authority of Ukraine, Republic of Moldova, Romania in trilateral cross-border cooperation.

· Considering the influence of project on border cooperation on forming vision of development of the Euroregion.

· Development partnerships between non-governmental organizations of three countries and project members.

· Establishing of potential spheres of cross-border cooperation.

· Elaboration and spreading of resolution of practical conferences passed in Izmail and Kahul.

· Elaboration and spreading of 600 models of informational booklets about project, spreading of project results by local members of self-governmental and SPA from the Euroregion “Lower Danube”.

Potential spheres of the future cooperation

1. Forming Coalition of non-governmental organizations.

2. Elaborating strategies of town Izmail, Reni , Bolgrad regions (Ukraine),Kahul and Kantemir regions (Moldova) with the next elaboration of strategies of the Euroregion .

3. Elaborating of common strategies including the tourism development in the Euroregion “Lower Danube”.

4. Organizing thematic and scientific conferences in the humanitarian and ecological sphere and the sphere of development of entrepreneurship, etc.

5. Organizing exhibitions.
